River Forest Township Mental Health

Behavioral Health

River Forest Township works with local agency partners to fund a wide range of programs in the areas of behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, domestic violence, underage substance use and addiction recovery.

The following agencies receive funding from River Forest Township to provide BEHAVIORAL HEALTH services to our community.

Support 4U and NAMI - provides community advocacy, outreach, and education; also provides a drop-in center and multiple living room crisis centers. RFT funds outreach and education.

Infant Welfare Society - provides free and low-cost medical, dental and mental health services to children and young adults with financial need.  RFT funds mental health screenings for children.

Housing Forward - offers emergency shelter, housing stability, interim housing, street outreach for those experiencing homelessness.  RFT funds street outreach and emergency assistance.

Sarah’s Inn - provides intervention services to those in domestic violence crisis situations; conducts domestic violence prevention education to area schools. RFT funds education, intervention and case management services.

Thrive - services include a 24/7 crisis team, group services and individual counseling services at low or reduced cost along with various mental health programs.  Also does suicide prevention in schools.  RFT funds Sibshops, counseling and suicide prevention education.
