Thank You for Supporting the Holiday Food and Gift Basket Program
The Holiday Food and Gift Basket (HFGB) program recorded another successful year, serving about 2,200 family members, senior citizens and single adults living in our community. Those served by the HFGB program were able to celebrate the holidays with food and gifts that nourish both their physical and emotional health.
Thanks to the generosity of many, each household referred to the HFGB program received a food gift card prior to Thanksgiving and holiday presents delivered to their door in early December.
HFGB program would like to give a special thank you to the River Forest Township for a grant that went towards funding the food gift cards and for providing office space and computer use.
The many thank you notes the HFGB program receives from recipients eloquently demonstrate how much this program means to so many. Below are excerpts from just a few.
“My son and I are very thankful that in our time of need, we had some kind soul to help us.”
“There’s nothing in this world that compares to my kids’ smiles. And you brought big smiles to my kids and meant the world to me.”
“Thank you so very much for all the great gifts I received. It is heartwarming to know that people still care for each other.”
On behalf of those served by the HFGB, thank you for your support.
Patty Henek
