Support Groups
River Forest Township works with local agency partners to fund a wide range of programs in the areas of behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, domestic violence, underage substance use and addiction recovery.
The following agencies receive funding from River Forest Township to provide SUPPORT GROUP services to our community.
FRED Parent Support Group - a free, online and in-person parent support group and website for parents whose children have mental health conditions. RFT funds website and other communication needs.
LOSS - is a non-denominational support group for those who have lost loved ones to suicide, run by Catholic Charities. There is no religious component in any of the services provided.
NAMI - provides community advocacy, outreach, and education; also provides a drop-in center and multiple living room crisis centers. RFT funds outreach and education.
Thrive - services include a 24/7 crisis team, group services and individual counseling services at low or reduced cost along with various mental health programs. Also does suicide prevention in schools.
